Brain Presentation
Transcript: 3 Major Divisions of the Brain Functions are connected to nerve impulses which relate to senses such as touch, pain, taste, pressure, and temperature. They also have language functions. Also involved in creativity, judgment, problem solving, and planning. Damage to the parietal lobes may result in loss of coordination and the inability to process sensory information. 2 significant divisions: Diencephalon Telencephalon The temporal lobes are concerned with interpreting and processing auditory stimuli. 4 Lobes of the Brain Occipital Lobe Hindbrain Components: Cerebellum Pons Medulla Cerebullem: functions for balance and coordination Pons: regulates sleep and arousal, and relays sensory information between the cerebrum and the cerabellum. Medulla: responsible for vital functions such as breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure. Associated functions: vision hearing motor control sleeping/waking alertness temperature regulation Brain Tour End of tour. Thank you! Parietal Lobe Language Thoughts Voluntary movements Emotion Reasoning hearing memory meaning language emotion and learning Temporal Lobe Sydnie, Gia, Quito, Luis, Arianna Diencephalon: contains the thalamus and hypothalamus, which are responsible for functions such as motor control, relating sensory stimulation, and controlling autonomic responses. Telencephalon: contrains the cerebrum, which regulates thinking, perception, language, and organization. Midbrain Parietal Occipital Temporal Frontal Forebrain Hemoneglect (from damage of right parietal lobe) Involved with the brain's ability to recognize objects and is therefore responsible for vision. -Including color recognition, reading, and movement perception.
