Transcript: Main plate (biggest plate) goes in the middle The salad plate goes on top of the Main plate Forks go on the left the salad fork goes on the nearest left and main food fork goes closest to plates Knives and soup spoon goes on the right. The dinner knife goes closest to the plate then the fish knife and last the soup spoon. The bread and butter plate goes on the left above the forks. The soup spoon is bigger than the dessert spoon. Table Manners Example Where Utensils Go Have clean hands and face put your napkin on your lap Start eating when everyone else does- or when given the OK Stay seated and sit up straight keep elbows of the table chew with mouth closed and don't talk until you have swallowed Don't make bad comments about food say "please pass the---" instead of reaching Talk to everyone at the table Don't make rude manners Ask to be excused Thank the host Offer to help clean the table Work Cited Sometimes the dinner table is crowded so the utensils get blended and it is hard to tell who's utensil is who's. So it is important that you keep your utensils in an order. It is also appetizer-Small dish of food eaten before the main meal. First course- first thing you eat usually soup or fruit.
