Network Communication

Transcript: 608536 Task 1 (Network Communication) What is a Network? What is a network? a network could be considered as a set of desktops, laptops, servers and network devices and all these devices are connected to each other to share. These devices that are connected to each other will share and exchange data. House Hold Example Network Example You are on a PC device and you are willing to collect some free stock photo of cats. So you go to the internet to collect some of these photos. You would go on a search engine for this and what the search engine will do is connect you to the internet and network and because you are connected to the internet or the network you will gain access to communicate to other devices. You will allow gain authorization and access to the data they share from that device. You are somewhat connecting to that device to receive the free stock photo of the images and downloading them. When you are getting e email sent from one device such as a phone, there are many processes done, When your smart phone connects to the internet to the device there will be various methods to connect. The mobile will connect to different types of networks such as 3G, 4G. 5G, etc or even WAP (wireless access point). When you select a method to connect to the internet and successfully connect to it, you will be able to use a application to send a email. You can use Outlook, groupwise, Gmail, etc. Selecting a connection and a application How a smart phone get a email to your tutors desktop and Laptop Part 2 When you have completed creating the email, and you have selected who you wish to send it too. you will press the send button and when the send button has been pressed, the email will be moved but before it is moved it will be generated and changed to binary. It will convert to binary so it can be put into packets, and them being put into packets will allow them to be sent through the internet. the email will also be encrypted making the email more secure and harder for unauthorized users to crack the email. Generating to binary, encryption and locating and placing packets After the message have been converted to binary and has become encrypted. It will be sent. before it reaches the tutors network, the tutors network may have a firewall. Because there is a firewall involved, the tutor firewall will check the message before it reaches the network. If any malicious files are found within that email will a malicious attachment, the fire wall will prevent this from accessing the network. After it has been checked, the email will pass through and when it reaches the device, the encrypted data will go out of its packets and be reassembled. By passing the firewall then to the router to move across When the Message is being sent through the packets and nodes. The email will have to eventually meet the router and the ISP. If the phone is connected to a 3G network or a 4G network. the phone can go to the ISP straight away instead of having to deal with more processes. It will not need to go through the router at all. Also when the message is being sent it will use Protocols such as IMAP and SMTP. Whereas collecting the email will use POP3 and SMTP. A SSL sent to the Router + the ISP's When the message has been sent and the network and ISP has received the email and the firewall verified and passed it through. When the tutor logs in the website they will use the SMTP protocol to log in and when they log in the email that has been sent will be collected by the POP protocol on the tutors desktop and computer. When the message has been deployed and the tutor logs on the desktop or laptop. Process/Diagram the first thing that should be set up is a router. the router will allow you to connect to the internet and without this, none of these devices can connect onlline. Once the router is up and going, the next stage is for you to connect the router tio the switch. If we had a talk talk router we would need to connect this using a RJ45 connector ethernet cable through the wall. The other side of the ethernet cable should connect to the switch. Setting up router How to create a connected network which consists of TV PS4 and NAZ box which allow you to stream Part 2 The NAS box will be used to store all the images, movies, videos and musix. The NAS box will act like a server which will allow me to view the files through a monitor. But first the NAZ box will not be directly connected to the switch. The NAZ box will be connected using the network and will be directly connected to the router. Since this is a server, it will consist a lot of space and because it consists of lots of space I can use to store big files such as films, images etc, that may be 4K. I will use a RJ45 connector ethernet cable, may connect this to the switch. Connecting the NAS box to the switch After the NAS box is assembled I will next connect up the PS4 to the switch. At the back of the PS4 where it displays its display port, there should be a Ethernet port which

Transcript: To register for "walk for wishes" go to: www.inter.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=1127319 or scan this QR code According to Make-A-Wish, 89% of doctors said that wish kids can experience better their health (makeawish.com) In the 2013 year, Make-A-Wish granted around 220,000 wishes and each wish costs around $8,141 There is more to the Make-A-Wish Organization than just sending dying kids to Disney World Kids can wish to go, to be, to meet, to have, and to give Donating to Make-A-Wish will allow more kids’ wishes to be granted, and their lives improved Chris, The First Wish Thousands of kids pass away each year due to tragic diseases and conditions Cancer is most life threatening Every kid has a dream and wishes to change it to reality Donations can make dreams come true Need for money to fulfill these less fortunate children's wishes (QR code made at: http://www.qr-code-generator.com/?PID=100&gclid=COKutcHq4sQCFQetaQodikMA6g) An Introduction Make-a-wish grants a wish, on average, once every 38 minutes. A child is referred to the program about once every 28 minutes. The foundation cannot keep up with the amount of wishes it receives. Therefore, more donations would allow for more wishes to be granted, and perhaps everyone's will be if enough donations are received. This is Chris Greicius, a little boy with Leukemia His wish was to "catch bad guys" with the Arizona Department of Public Safety On April 29, 1980, he was given a tour along with a hat and uniform The officers set up cones for him to drive a battery-powered motorcycle through, in order for him to earn his motorcycle officer's wings Chris returned to the hospital when the officers went to present his wings He passed away on May 3rd with his wish fulfilled To donate go to wish.org Alexander Looks Back On His Wish TO find out more about volunteering go to michigan.wish.org to the Make a Wish Foundation A wish come true helps children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical conditions. For many, the wish marks a turning point in the fight against their illnesses. Doctors, nurses and other health professionals say, the wish experience works in concert with medicine to make their patients feel better emotionally and even physically. That is why wishes matter. That is why we grant wishes. (Make a- Wish) Conclusion When Alexander was 9, he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukhemia. As soon as she found out about his diagnosis, his mother sought out the Make-A-Wish Foundation to have Alexander's wish, to go bug hunting, granted. That same year, Make-A-Wish sent Alexander and his entire family to the Panama Canals in order to grant his wish. While he was there he saw all new plants and animals, held an iguana and even had a bee named after him. His mother even went on to say recently "It remains the greatest trip our family has ever taken." Now 21, Alexander said there's not a day that goes by that he doesn't think about his wish that was granted. He talks about how much of an impact the wish made and how he owes Make-A-Wish for giving him the joy to continue his fight that he eventually beat against leukemia. He's now a student at Center Washington University studying Environmental Sciences. There is not enough money going into the organization to fulfill all of the kids wishes

Transcript: Static Address's Broadcast Multicast Assigning an address Communication When a device wants to send information to only one device it sends a unicast signal. this means that it sends the data to only one device on the network. This is useful for host to host communication Static addressing is a method of assigning IPv4 addresses, subnet masks, and default gateway directly from the devices settings. Static addresses are useful for printers and servers because they wont leave the network like a laptop or a phone. when a computer wants to send information to a group of devices it sends a multicast signal. This is mainly used for video or audio broadcasts, distributing software or exchanging routing information works cited When a computer wants to send a signal to all computers on the network they send a broadcast signal. A broadcast signal is usefull for mapping networks, and requesting an address http://static-course-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/IntroNet50ENU/module8/index.html#8.1.3.1 http://static-course-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/IntroNet50ENU/module8/index.html#8.1.3.2 http://static-course-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/IntroNet50ENU/module8/index.html#8.1.3.3 http://static-course-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/IntroNet50ENU/module8/index.html#8.1.3.4 http://static-course-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/IntroNet50ENU/module8/index.html#8.1.3.5 Dynamic host configuration protocol is the service that automatically assign the IP address, subnet address, and the default gateway by acquiring the information form the DHCP server's address pool. The address pool is a list of usable IP addresses for that particular network. This addressing method is widely used on networks that have lots of users with wireless devices that leave the network frequently. IPv4 addressing methods and communication Unicast By: Cory Shattuck In the networking environment, computers need to be able to communicate with each other. To do this the device needs to know who they are and who they are talking to. Network Communication Now that the computer knows who it is it needs to know who it wants to send information to. Does it want to send data to one computer? Does it want to send to everyone? or does it want to send information to only a group? These are all things that the computer needs to know when sending data to other devices DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol For a device to be able to talk to another device it needs to know who it is. The process of telling the computer who it is, is called addressing. There are two main methods of addressing, DHCP and creating a static address.

NETWORK COMMUNICATION

Transcript: Online Fax/ FoIP/Electronic Describe facsimile communication and describe the differences between physical faxing (which does not require the use of a network) and electronic faxing (which does require the use of a network) Short for facsimile machine, a device that can send or receive pictures and text over a telephone line. Fax machines work by digitizing an image DONE BY MUTAMA What is email? TYPE OF FAX email stand for electronic mail each email has its own mailbox emails can contain text, images, links etc. emails can have attachments GOAL! Compare online fax and fax machine Fax Machine/Physical Faxing The sending fax converts the light/dark areas of the printed document into noises. These noises travel through the phone system and are received by another fax machine. The receiving fax machine converts the noises into printed marks on a piece of paper - making a copy of the original document. NETWORK COMMUNICATION FAX The technology that enables the internetworking of fax machines with a packet-based network. The digital data from the fax machine is separated into packets for transmission (as opposed to the traditional method of converting the fax data into analog to be sent over the telephone line. The digital data requires less bandwidth than the analog data, so FoIP is more efficient than analog faxing. Fax is short for ‘facsimile’ which means ‘copy’. A fax machine is a device that can send a copy of a paper document over the telephone network.
